Doug Smith, Group General Manager, CJ Logistics Transportation will join other industry leaders in a panel at the Accelerate! Conference & Expo hosted by the Women in Trucking Association in Dallas, TX, November 5-8.
“Guys—How Can You Be An Effective Male Ally?” will be presented November 7, 4-5 pm. Countering the common perception that roadblocks to promotion or credit for meaningful contributions from women in the workplace are “women’s issues” and that men, often the most influential in a company, don’t need to be involved, Smith and the other panelists will discuss their perspectives on the importance of male allyship in the work environment and their motivations for being a male ally. They will give practical advice on how men can partner with female colleagues to advance women’s leadership and inclusion by breaking ingrained gender stereotypes, overcoming unconscious biases and creating productive, respectful working relationships with women.
CJ Logistics Transportation leaders, Joan Nabukeera, Sr. Manager, Fleet, Andrea Weaver, Sr. Manager, Safety & Compliance, Giovanna Oliveira, Sr. Manager, Brokerage Sales, Erin Drehobl, Manager, Transportation, and Melissa Gallardo, Manager, Talent Acquisition, will attend the conference.
Attendees at the Women in Trucking Accelerate! Conference are transportation decision-makers in the roles of managers, directors, vice presidents and presidents of companies ranging from motor carriers and 3PLs to manufacturers, retailers, truck driving schools, financial and insurance providers, and health & fitness services.
