In collaboration with customer B&G Foods, a CJ Logistics Transportation truck, temporarily adorned with the Green GiantTM logo, recently delivered a donation of 90,000 cans of Green GiantTM vegetables. The donated vegetables traveled from a warehouse in Nazareth, PA, to New York’s first and largest food rescue organization, City Harvest in Brooklyn.
The donation, including 50,000 cans of corn, is part of Green GiantTM’s Thanksgiving week partnership with seven-year-old internet sensation Tariq the “Corn Kid” who is from Brooklyn. Tariq and the Jolly Green GiantTM were on hand for the delivery at City Harvest. Prior to that delivery, Green GiantTM also donated 100 cans to the canned food drive at Tariq’s school in Brooklyn.
“We are very excited to partner with Corn Kid this Thanksgiving as his enthusiasm for corn rivals that of the Green GiantTM himself,” said Kristen Thompson, Senior Vice President & President, Frozen & Vegetables, B&G Foods, in a news release. “Corn Kid has a giant heart and we are thrilled to help him share his love of corn with his community this Thanksgiving with an enormous donation of our canned veggies.”
B&G Foods, Green GiantTM’s parent company, manufactures and distributes high-quality branded shelf-stable and frozen foods across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. As B&G’s logistics partner, CJ Logistics America manages the Nazareth warehouse and the team there prepared the load of donated vegetables for shipping. The company’s trucking division, CJ Logistics Transportation, donated its services for the delivery to Brooklyn.
