National Truck Driver Appreciation Week – September 11-17, 2022 – honors America’s 3.6 million professional truck drivers who deliver goods safely, securely and on time, and keep the country’s highways safe. As American Trucking Associations, the national trade association for the trucking industry, points out, “Nearly every aspect of daily life is made possible because a truck driver delivered the goods and resources people need.”
Truck drivers safely transport over 10 billion tons of goods and products every year, 70% of America’s total annual freight, according to American Trucking Associations. More than 80% of US communities depend solely on trucking to deliver goods.
CJ Logistics America joins in honoring these professional men and women for their hard work and commitment to a demanding and important job. “Our nation’s professional truck drivers work hard delivering goods for Americans,” said Doug Smith, Group General Manager of GNT, an expanding transportation division soon to be rebranded as CJ Logistics Transportation. “We welcome this opportunity to recognize these men and women for their dedication, perseverance and determination and thank them for all they do to keep the country’s supply chain moving – this week and every day.”
As the company grows its transportation management business with new and existing customers and evolves in new directions with freight forwarding, asset-based fleet services and freight brokerage, CJ Logistics America, a leader in integrated global supply chain management, knows how important drivers are. “We make building close relationships with our carriers a high priority so that together we ensure customer needs are met,” said Brad Nuffer, SVP of Transportation. “We value the relationships we have with our carrier partners and our partners’ drivers, and we recognize the vital contributions of our drivers.”
