National Forklift Safety Day, June 8, calls attention to the importance of forklift operator safety training and forklift safety practices. The annual event, sponsored by the Industrial Truck Association (ITA), includes presentations from government representatives, safety experts and industry representatives, in a virtual format again this year.

In 2021, as supply chain operations continue to move products and resources in the face of challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic and other disasters, natural and human-made, it seems especially important to emphasize safety related to the forklifts and forklift operators fundamental to supply chains everywhere, in warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and stores.

At CJ Logistics, workplace safety is an everyday priority. “The safety and well-being of all CJ Logistics employees, including the men and women who operate our forklifts, is our highest priority,” said Joe Smiesko, Senior Director, Safety, Security & Compliance. “We know how crucial it is to reinforce the message of forklift safety, and we recognize the essential work our forklift operators, and all employees, are doing for our customers’ supply chains and for consumers.”
