The CJ CUP moves to South Carolina this October

THE CJ CUP will be played in the Southeast region of the US for the first time this year. With a new name, THE CJ CUP in South Carolina, the event will be held at Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, South Carolina, Oct. 17-23, 2022. Congaree is located about an hour northwest of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. THE CJ CUP in South Carolina will be held in partnership with The State of South Carolina,

THE CJ CUP, Korea’s first official PGA TOUR tournament launched in 2017, was played for three years at Nine Bridges on Jeju Island, Korea. In 2020, due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic the event was moved to the Las Vegas area, first at Shadow Creek Golf Course and then at The Summit Club in 2021.

THE CJ CUP is sponsored by CJ Group, a global lifestyle company based in South Korea. CJ Group is committed to supporting the development of professional golf in Korea and sponsors golfers Si Woo Kim (winner of The American Express 2021), Sungjae Im (winner of The Honda Classic 2020 and Shriners Children’s Open 2021), Byeong-Hun An and Kyoung-Hoon Lee (2021 and 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson winner).

“We are excited to host THE CJ CUP at Congaree this October,” said Wookho Kyeong, Chief Marketing Officer of CJ Group. “Over the last five years, our tournament has established itself on the PGA TOUR through the caliber of champions who have emerged, and we are also proud the tournament has been well received by players.”
