Transportation industry faces continuing high demand, tight capacity

The magnitude of what the transportation industry is facing now and into 2021 as the pandemic continues was the topic covered by Ken Heller, CJLA’s Chief Transportation Officer, during the company’s recent COVID-19 Customer Forum.

Emphasizing CJLA’s commitment to achieving customers’ service expectations and the importance of collaboration, Heller talked with customers about the concerns around tight capacity, driver shortages, retail requirements and continued cost pressures, including rising fuel prices. He also pointed out the record equipment sales indicating the asset-based industry’s expectation that demand will continue, adding that CJLA is expanding GNT Transportation, its asset-based fleet, in early 2021.
