DSC is hosting representatives from its partner carriers at the 2018 Carrier Summit, October 25, at DSC’s corporate headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois. With a focus on delivering customer value, this event fosters supply chain dialogue and thought leadership among DSC’s transportation leaders and carrier and customer partners.
The day-long meeting enables candid conversations regarding customer needs and industry trends. Customer guests will have an opportunity to convey updates to carrier partners regarding changing business dynamics and strategic supply chain goals. Also at this meeting, DSC will share information about its optimized, enhanced transportation procurement platform and process, and will encourage carrier feedback to confirm that new tools and methods are feasible and mutually beneficial.
This year in particular, DSC will have exciting updates related to its recent joining with global supply chain management innovator CJ Logistics. Based in Seoul, South Korea, CJ Logistics operates in 33 countries. Now as one company, DSC and CJ will be able to provide extended global services to DSC’s customers by supporting international freight forwarding, cross-border transportation, global operations and expanded omnichannel fulfillment capabilities.
DSC Transportation leaders will facilitate panel and group discussions covering topics such as DSC’s transportation technology platform, capacity trends, what carriers want shippers to know about becoming shipper of choice and creating driver experiences, and carrier perspectives on RFP events, including best and worst practices.
“DSC’s business strategy is based on collaborative partnerships, innovative thinking and high-performance operations,” said Ken Heller, Senior Vice President, Operations. “Developing strong strategic partnerships with carriers is an essential part of this focus and movement, and it’s important to us.”
