“Communicate to the whole company,” DSC Logistics CIO Kevin Glynn said at the recent 2017 Chicago CIO Executive Leadership Summit. Kevin was a member of the panel on “Summoning the Courage to Lead and Drive Innovation.”
“Set audacious goals for your team, advise everyone how much change is coming, and work with people to help them understand as their jobs and lives are disrupted.”
Kevin offered ideas to CIOs who are pioneering rapid introductions of new technology. Kevin suggested that the first step in starting something new is to create and build enthusiasm, and then to over-communicate. He said to fellow CIOs, “Assume if people don’t understand, you haven’t communicated.”
