Welcomed by General Manager Martin Shin and the Canada teams, CJ Logistics America CEO Kevin Coleman, Bernie Center, Managing Director, Freight Forwarding, and Joey Davidson, Senior Director, Business Development, recently toured operations in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Toronto, Ontario.
Each site visit included an operations overview, warehouse tour and team member introduction, with lunches and dinners providing opportunities for becoming better acquainted with teams and managers. “It was exciting to get to know some of the members of the small but growing Canada team,” Davidson said. “We want to make sure everyone feels connected to our overall North American culture and strategy.”
In Vancouver, the warehouse team led by Shawn Lee, Operations Leader showed how the operation has improved since last year. In Toronto, Martin Shin, Xiaobin Ren, Freight Forwarding/Transportation Management Manager, Daniel Shin, Team Leader, Oliver Yeo, Customer Specialist I, and Stephanie Kim, HR/Finance updated the CJ Logistics America team about the Toronto warehouse #2 operation, started up in May 2022.
“The new warehouse we added in Toronto in May is already full and we are again looking for new space to accommodate further expansion,” Davidson said. “The Canada team is so entrepreneurial and creative in designing supply chain solutions for customers that we believe there is potential for not just steady, but explosive growth in the years to come.”
The teams reviewed the growth of Canadian operations since the integration and the business growth plan for 2023. They also reviewed the Canadian real estate market survey.
“It was a great opportunity to hear from the CJ Logistics America team on how to improve the current operation,” Shin said. “After the visit, we had a chance to review our 2023 growth plan with more functional leaders in Chicago and we will have small group meetings with each function to get the right support.”
“Safety first, space optimization, growth with CJ Logistics America—these are our priorities,” Shin said.
