DSC CEO Ann Drake was a member of the Women in Supply Chain panel at the 2017 Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference in May.
Ann, who founded AWESOME, a leadership initiative for women in the supply chain field, was joined on the panel by Meri Stevens, VP Strategy & Deployment, Johnson & Johnson and Lisa Kulok, Sr. VP Global Supply Chain Operations, Columbia Sportswear Company.
The panel discussed the importance of risk taking to professional development. Panelists indicated that they would like to see more supply chain women in top jobs in their respective companies in the next 20 years, leaders engaging and encouraging young women globally to make a difference, and women leaders giving back and personally getting engaged in supporting and developing other women.
The panel presentation followed a report by Dana Stiffler, VP Research for Gartner, on key findings of the 2017 Women in Supply Chain Survey.
DSC CIO Kevin Glynn and Sr. VP Customer Solutions Kevin Coleman also attended the annual conference hosted by Gartner.
