Explain your background prior to your current role.
My background is in application development, database architecture and data management. Prior to joining CJ Logistics America, I worked in several midsize to large organizations across various industries helping develop their operational and analytical applications.
Describe your current role. What do you do?
I am responsible for managing CJ Logistics America’s Business Intelligence and Analytics solution. Over the last couple of years, the business analytics needs have evolved exponentially. This was primarily driven by DSC Logistics becoming part of the CJ Group and as CJ Logistics America establishes itself as a billion dollar supply chain and logistics company. On a day-to-day basis my team assists internal users and customers by providing them data and tools to make better business decisions.
What do you like most about your role?
I have the flexibility to switch between technical and business hats with support from the leadership team. Having the confidence of the business team allows me to utilize my technical skills for designing the best possible solutions while at the same time allowing me to directly work with various business functions to identify their requirements.
What project/experience/accomplishment are you proudest of? Why?
Modernizing CJ Logistics America’s legacy data warehouse and reporting system to an advanced cloud based analytical solution. Our internal and customer users now have access to standardized, centralized and accurate data which is refreshed multiple times a day. At the same time, we have also established a business request intake process which helps users get their requests reviewed, prioritized and completed in a more timely manner with full visibility on progress.
What have you gained from working at CJ Logistics America?
I have been able to grow professionally and technically in the last few years at CJ Logistics America. The company’s open door policy has allowed me to get direct access to the leadership and learn from them various aspects of business/ management. Being part of an energetic diverse culture where people have an attitude of supporting each other all the time gives a positive experience that I very much like to continue to be a part of.
How is working at CJ Logistics America more than a job?
At CJ Logistics America we are really more of a big family. Everyone not only takes care of their own responsibilities but also covers any gaps left from other team members. The work life balance and opportunities to grow make this much more than a job.
