Explain your background prior to your current role.
My most recent position prior to joining CJ Logistics America was that of a Global Controller at an international logistics company. I am a licensed CPA and I have graduate degrees in accounting, international banking and finance.
Describe your current role. What do you do?
I lead and manage all accounting functions including general accounting, tax, payroll, accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, risk management and insurance. I help in building an enterprise-wide, operationally excellent accounting and control environment to support our anticipated growth, and I advise the company’s business managers on financial matters and their strategic implications.
What do you like most about your role?
I like the variety and challenge of overseeing so many different functions.
What project/experience/accomplishment are you proudest of? Why?
In the nine months I have been with CJ Logistics I have worked on various process improvement projects that I am proud of. A few that I would like to list are Introducing the credit application process for new customers in freight forwarding and GNT trucking business, streamlining the intercompany reconciliation process, processing Concur expense reimbursements through payroll and building a better structure for the Accounts Receivable department.
How is working at CJ Logistics America more than a job?
The people I work with make it more than a job. I am excited to come into work daily and work with talented people who have great respect for the company and their coworkers. Because so many people in my department have been with the company for a long time, I feel as if I’m part of a big family.
