Explain your background prior to your current role.
My background is entirely in transportation and logistics. My first job was with a trucking company where I learned about the importance of what drivers do and the challenges they face each day. My roles changed and evolved over the years with another carrier, and eventually into Corporate Transportation Management roles with three different organizations. My experiences gave me perspective from both the carrier side and the shipper side, which has been very helpful in a 3PL environment.
Describe your current role. What do you do?
I help lead a team whose primary responsibility is to create innovative and creative solutions to meet our customer’s supply chain challenges. Our work involves areas such as engineering, finance, procurement and design across modes and disciplines using some of our industry’s most powerful technologies. The results help create or maintain efficient and resilient supply chains for some of the country’s most vital and enjoyed products.
What do you like most about your role?
The variety of customers, opportunities and companies we work with has created an always evolving work environment where continuous learning is at the center. No two days are alike.
What project/experience/accomplishment are you proudest of? Why?
Over the years, one area I have focused on is helping to grow our capabilities and services in CJ Logistics’ Transportation Management group. To see the continued growth of this team, the personal development of so many people in this group and the expanded career opportunities that now exist here, I can’t help but feel a little proud.
What have you gained from working at CJ Logistics America?
I have gained so many colleagues and teammates, past and present. And I learned something from each one of them regardless of age or experience.
How is working at CJ Logistics America more than a job?
To me, there is a feeling of fulfillment that comes from knowing that each day I am using all of my capabilities. Everything I have learned from so many people over nearly 30 years in the industry is put to use. It drives a curiosity to learn more, and this environment encourages and recognizes that type of development.
