CJ Logistics America thanks the members of the hard-working warehouse and transportation teams who are keeping the company’s supply chain operations running over the long holiday weekend.
Specializing in providing holistic, large-scale warehousing and transportation solutions for customers in regulated industries such as food and beverage, healthcare and medical supplies, tire and automotive, and consumer packaged goods, CJ Logistics America continues to collaborate closely with customers to accelerate continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring they achieve their goals this holiday weekend and beyond.
This year, the annual survey by the National Retail Federation (NRF) shows that 87% of consumers plan to celebrate Independence Day and expect to spend an average of $93.34 on food items. According to the survey by Numerator in Chain Store Age, many consumers surveyed are looking for ways to save money, expecting the economy to impact their holiday plans. Cookouts (65%), fireworks/community activities (42%), travel (14%) and parades (13%) make the list of celebration plans reported in the NRF survey. While supply chain issues are not reported to be impacting availability and sales of fireworks again this year, drought conditions in some areas may have an impact on fireworks displays.
Although only 14% of NRF survey respondents said they would be traveling, the American Automobile Association (AAA) projects 50.7 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this Independence Day weekend, setting a record for the holiday. Domestic travel over the long weekend will increase by 2.1 million people compared to 2022, according to AAA. This year’s projection surpasses the previous July 4 weekend record set in 2019 of 49 million travelers.
CJ Logistics America wishes everyone a safe and happy Independence Day 2023.
