CIO Kevin Glynn contributes article on in-house software development

DSC Logistics’ CIO Kevin Glynn discusses the advantages of developing, maintaining and innovating software in-house in “Modern Software Development Methodologies,” an article published in CIO Review Magazine: Logistics Technology Special, July 25, 2016.

Citing DSC’s experience as an example, Kevin explains why the company develops software in-house. “We believe that our industrial engineers, operators and software engineers can be more creative and competitive versus if we used packaged software exclusively,” Kevin said. “Our ideas are real world tested, in our logistics centers and transportation groups…The best thing about this approach? It is fast. Our company controls the pace of change directly; we don’t wait for consultants to analyze the problem, or software companies to develop new versions.”

The detailed explanation of why Kevin supports in-house software development and his suggestions for getting started can be found in the online edition: http://magazine.cioreview.com/magazines/July2016/Logistics/
