DSC Logistics CEO Ann Drake was interviewed recently on “Marketplace,” American Public Media’s radio program about business and economics. In a “Conversations From the Corner Office” segment headlined “Why aren’t there more female CEOs?” Ann spoke with host Kai Ryssdal about DSC Logistics, her own experiences as a business leader, the changes in the business world over the years and the progress that still needs to be made in getting women in corporate leadership positions.
“I never thought about going into the business ever — even as a young adult — because women didn’t do those things. So I think changing the whole paradigm around women’s business leadership is really important,” Ann said. “I think things have changed a lot, but we need to crack through the top.”
Ann’s Marketplace interview was featured by CSCMP’s online Supply Chain Quarterly in an article entitled “Ann Drake takes to the airwaves.” The article will also be featured in the January edition ofDC Velocity, in print and online.
Marketplace is broadcast by almost 800 public radio stations across the United States reaching more than 13 million weekly listeners, making it the most widely heard business and economic programming on radio or television in the country.
