Helm has been the Supply Chain Leader in Champaign for the past six years. She was the first person hired in the location and was instrumental in the start-up of the complex operation. “Tabatha’s commitment to the success of DSC/CJ and our customer shows in everything the site has accomplished over the past six years,” said Steve Zaayer, Operations Leader, in nominating Helm for the award. “She keeps her finger on the pulse of our site, makes herself available anytime an employee needs to reach out, and has taught me and many others so much over the years.”
A high volume high-performing operation, the Champaign facility is often used as a test site for innovation. “Each year we are challenged to perform in different ways and Tabatha welcomes the challenge,” Zaayer said. “She has built a strong team around her and sees that we have the tools necessary to be successful.”
Supply & Demand Chain Executive is celebrating its 20-year anniversary with the introduction of the award. “We received over 200 entries for this new award, entries that were submitted from a combination of men and women. This proves that our industry needed an award like this,” said Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. “According to Gartner’s 2020 Women in Supply Chain Survey, 17% of chief supply chain officers are now women – a 6% increase compared to 2019. This award represents growth, evolution and community,”
