March is National Women’s History Month, and CJ Logistics America is proud to recognize all of the women who make this company and the supply chain industry great.
This year’s theme, “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion,” recognizes women who understand that to have a positive future we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions, according to The National Women’s History Alliance.
“During 2024, we recognize the example of women who are committed to embracing everyone and excluding no one in our common quest for freedom and opportunity,” the organization said. “They know that people change with the help of families, teachers and friends, and that young people in particular need to learn the value of hearing from different voices with different points of view as they grow up.”
CJ Logistics America has long been committed to supporting the success of women throughout the industry. Doug Smith, Group General Manager at CJ Logistics, is a notable champion for this cause and is closely involved with the Women in Trucking Association. “For women in logistics, my counsel is to ensure your visibility, boldly champion yourself, and vocalize your perspectives,” said Smith. “Seek mentors, irrespective of gender, and embrace their guidance in overcoming obstacles and bias, paving the way for innovation. Upon reaching new heights, remember to nurture the next generation of leaders in your field.”
Brenda Murphy, SVP, Human Resources at CJ Logistics, also shared her thoughts on women in the workplace. “Women have grit. We know what we want, how to get there, and will work hard for it. We are blazing a trail to have that seat at the table. Once we have it, you won’t be sorry.”
