The Annual Network Bid from DSC Logistics’ Transportation Management Center (TMC) kicks off January 2, 2020.
This procurement event for truckload (TL) and intermodal shipping – across geographies and customers in the US – will establish rates for April 2020 to April 2021. With the information obtained through the bid process, DSC establishes its network routes and routing guide, and accounts for network changes and evolving customer needs.
To streamline and automate the bid process, DSC leverages the technology of the Keelvar platform with its Sourcing Optimizer, Sourcing Automation and Fulfillment Optimizer, making it quicker to engage carriers and allow for market changes.
DSC anticipates 400-500 carriers to participate in the event and places an emphasis on relationship building and continuous improvement. “We will continue to optimize our network,” said Chris Barkinge, Senior Director, Carrier Relationship Management. “We want to ensure our customers see incremental value from DSC’s transportation management solution.”
The TMC will host a Carrier Summit toward the end of the procurement event, with the focus on service, partnership approach, and routing guide requirements.
Carriers interested in participating in DSC’s annual bid and summit should please email RFPTrans@dsclogistics.com and complete the DSC Carrier Registration online form.
